EMDR Intensives

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is an evidence-based trauma processing modality. In short, it replicates the eye movements found during REM sleep when the brain is processing the memories of the day in order to prompt the brain into its processing mode while conscious. This process helps connect traumatic memories to adaptive information that has become inaccessible to us due to the nature of the trauma and resolves the lingering distress.

What are EMDR Intensives?

EMDR Intensives are extended sessions that allow for more dedicated processing time. Whereas a Standard EMDR session is 50 minutes long and scheduled once a week, an EMDR Intensive can be anywhere from 90 minutes to 6 hours and can be scheduled back to back as desired. This format gives clients an opportunity to see significant change in a relatively short period of time.

Insurance

For EMDR Intensives, we are able to bill insurance for the first hour of the Intensive. After that, the fee must be paid out-of-pocket.
