Body Doubling Group

What is Body Doubling?

Body doubling is a productivity technique where a person works alongside another individual—either in person or virtually—to enhance focus and motivation. The presence of another person can help reduce distractions and increase accountability, making it easier to complete tasks. Body doubling can also provide someone with the calming presence of another when engaging in task initiation can be overwhelming.

Do I have to work on the same task as someone else?

No!

The presence of another person for body doubling doesn't mean you need to be working on the same task to receive support. The goal is to have shared space to help each other stay focused/concentrated on tasks they want to complete.

What are the expectations? Am I expected to talk or be quiet?

This will be a quiet virtual group. Each group will start with an opening grounding exercise led by Suzanne Dilitto, LMFT and then each person will either internally or externally state their task intention for that dedicated time.

When and Where will these groups be held?

Groups will be held weekly at Wednesdays at 12pm via HIPAA-compliant Google Meet. You must sign up for the group by emailing Suzanne Dilitto or the admin email at least 36 hours in advance.

How long will the body doubling group be?

Body doubling groups will be 60 minutes.

How much does the group cost?

For Molina & OHP clients, we can bill insurance for group therapy sessions. For private pay clients, it will cost $20 per group.
